During this time I really wanted to find my birth mother. Not because I wanted to form a connection or because I wanted to get to know her, but because I was so unbelievably angry. I resented her and my adoption. I wanted to be able to see her face, to yell at her and blame her for giving me away. In my mind, it was her fault that I was stuck in this town with these horrible people. Motherhood is the most exhausting, yet most rewarding adventure I have ever been on. Constant trial and error through each new phase, while sneaking their Halloween candy into the Index Moteefe on 2021/01/27  corners of our closet so I don’t have to share. I believe they had to grow up faster than we had ever wanted them to, but they hold a bond with each other and have such incredible confidence, something I believe they would not have had otherwise. On February 25, 2019, Isaac (the kids’ father) passed away from complications of liver and kidney failure from alcoholism. It was one of the Indate Moteefe on newartshirt on 2020/10/30  beautiful tragic times in mine and my children’s life. We were all able to care for him and be a family unit, a gift we were given by God at such a difficult time. My children were able to see the love we had for each other and spend precious moments with their dad, who left this earth entirely too soon at the age of 43. Wondering where this all fits in? Along the way, I have always had a heart for Native Americans. I don’t even know what sparked the love in my heart.
